๐Ÿ“ Match Summary

Day 3 of the gripping India vs England Test match at Headingley had everything a cricket fan dreams of—hundreds, heartbreak, dropped catches, and world-class bowling.

India began the day with a commanding score of 471 on the board. England, who resumed at 209/3, needed a solid effort to match up—and they delivered just that… almost.

๐Ÿ’ฅ England Fight Back: Pope & Brook Lead the Charge

Ollie Pope was the hero in the morning session. Calm, composed, and technically sound, Pope notched up a magnificent 106, anchoring England's innings early on.

Enter Harry Brook—aggressive, fluent, and fearless. He attacked Indian bowlers and pushed the score along with ease.

But heartbreak struck just before glory—Brook fell on 99, caught after multiple reprieves. A brilliant innings, just 1 run short of a century.

---

๐Ÿ”ฅ Bumrah Delivers Yet Again

India’s go-to man, Jasprit Bumrah, proved why he’s among the world’s elite fast bowlers. Despite fielding errors from the team, Bumrah kept his focus and ended with a 5-wicket haul (5/83)—his 14th five-for in Tests!

England were finally bowled out for 465, just 6 runs short of India’s first innings total.

---

๐Ÿ˜ฌ Fielding Woes for India

India dropped at least 5 catches, including two of Harry Brook.

These misses allowed England to stay in the game and almost take the lead.

It was a forgettable day in the field, with many pointing out that the lead could’ve been bigger had those chances been taken.

๐Ÿ“ˆ India 2nd Innings: A Steady Start

India’s second innings began cautiously. With a small lead and a tricky pitch, openers looked to survive the new ball.

KL Rahul led from the front, batting confidently to reach 47 not out* by stumps.

Debutant Sai Sudharsan impressed again but was dismissed for 30, while Rohit Sharma departed early.

At close of play, India stood at 90/2, holding a slender lead of 96 runs.

Rain interrupted the final session, and no further play was possible.

๐Ÿ“Š Scorecard Summary

India 1st Innings – 471 all out

England 1st Innings – 465 all out

India 2nd Innings – 90/2 (Rahul 47*, Sudharsan 30)

๐Ÿ”ฎ What to Expect on Day 4?

India will look to bat deep on Day 4 and build a target of 250+ to put England under pressure in the fourth innings.

However, England’s bowlers—especially in these conditions—will aim for early breakthroughs. With the pitch showing signs of wear, Day 4 is likely to be the decider.

---

๐Ÿ’ฌ Final Word

This Test is perfectly poised. Just like Headingley in 2019, this one is shaping up for a blockbuster finish. Will India take control, or will England bounce back again?

Let’s wait and watch.
